2022 Kirkland Signature Sancerre | CostcoWineBlog.com
We had several readers tip us off that this bottle was arriving in Costco stores, and we were thrilled to find it on our last trip. We bought three right away, but maybe should have picked up more.
This one will sell out quickly. As you can see this is the 2022 vintage, and we were unable to find the 2021 last year, likely due to it selling through so fast.
The price rose by $1 to $15.99 (back where it was with the 2019 vintage), but we’re ok with since Sancerre in this price range is almost impossible to find outside of this Kirkland offering. And the wine turned out to be as delicious as we hoped.
This new 2022 bottle is the third vintage of this wine we’ve tasted and we’ve enjoyed them all. Bummed we missed 2021.
2019 vintage: 90 points
2020 vintage: 89 points
We’re glad to see Costco is not giving up on it, and we hope it continues for years to come. Our tasting notes were very similar to the past vintages too, so if you’ve tasted and enjoyed this one before, you’re in for a treat once again.
In the glass the wine is a medium to deep yellow with light citrus on the nose; it is medium in body with nice acidity; in the mouth are flavors of lime, green apple, a touch of white peach with a little grassiness. Great finish. Really a nice wine all around.
We’re going to bring this wine back to 90 points with this new vintage. Cheers.
