I taste a bunch-o-wine (technical term for more than most people). So each week, I share some of my wine reviews (mostly from samples) and tasting notes in a “mini-review” format.

- 2020 Adega de Redondo ‘Porta da Ravessa’ Special Edition Branco (Alentejo): Grill the scallops, pour some of this, have fun. $NA B
- 2019 Bacalhoa Quinta do Carmo Tinto (Alentejo): Very fruity, very dark, very structured, & very good for the money! $30 A-
- 2021 Quinta do Vesuvio Pombal do Vesuvio (Douro): Just about equal parts elegant and powerful. $25 A-
- 2015 Castello Banfi Poggio all’Oro Riserva (Brunello di Montalcino): Just a hint of forest floor reveals its age; otherwise, this is still a youngster with greatness potential written all over it. $200 A
- 2016 Westside Crossing Chardonnay (Russian River Valley): Lots of ripe stone fruit, lots of earth, lots of tastiness… $28 B+
- 2022 Cattleya ‘Alma de Cattleya’ Rose of Pinot Noir (Sonoma County): Wild strawberry action that’s ?? heart-eyes emoji ?? worthy. $20 A-
- 2022 Cattleya ‘Alma de Cattleya’ Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley): Elegant, and brimming with bright red fruits and minerality. $60 A-
- 2022 Cattleya ‘Alma de Cattleya’ Chardonnay (Sonoma County): Very well crafted. Peachy, a bit voluptuous, and round in the middle. $28 B+
- 2022 Cattleya ‘Alma de Cattleya’ Pinot Noir (Sonoma County): Gorgeous. Wears its heft with grace and brambly aplomb. $35 A-
- 2016 Simonsig Redhill Pinotage (Stellenbosch): Meaty, large,having a strong coffee & very much in charge with its juicy, powerful , leathery, smokey, gamey demeanor. $38 A-
