Best Press Releases for 10.03.24

I’ve decided to briefly use the best press releases coming to me each week, from all over the world. They’re great stories, and someone took a lot of time to craft them. They mostly fall on deaf ears, and I know that because I am publicist. I also know that when it hits the right person, it triggers a response. Mostly, they must be so outrageously new they will make it around the world. When I decided to gather what I could of African American Vintners, I knew it was right thing to do.

Within one year, a story came in from a clipping service of the Association of African American Vintners. I had done my job, because it was from Malaysia. That’s what public relations can do for companies, and why I’ve been in demand.

Domaine Bousquet is bucking the trend. I’ve decided to advance other stories. Let’s go! I’ll edit a bit, but only for more clarity.

Cortese In the Gavi DOCG

Harvest 2024: First Insights on Gavi DOCG – Piedmont, Italy

As the harvest continues, The Consorzio Tutela del Gavi, in Italy, shares initial impressions of the vintage and updates on sales figures. The 2024 season for the great white wines of Piedmont is shaping up to be one of the most complex in recent years. This is according to an initial assessment shared by the Consorzio Tutela del Gavi. However, thanks to the remarkable adaptability of the Cortese grape variety to climate change, the prospects for quality remain positive.

The harvest of Cortese, in the Gavi DOCG area, began the third week of September, slightly later than last year. Davide Ferrarese, agronomist for the Consorzio is quoted,  “The season was characterized by high temperatures, though they weren’t prolonged. And, abundant spring rainfall required extensive work in the vineyards. Despite the unstable spring, a warm, sunny summer, combined with the dedicated effort of the growers. This ensured the grapes remained healthy. And, harvesting operations are still underway, though rains have posed challenges, leading to brief interruptions in the picking.”

Organics are a welcome bright spot amid industry doom and gloom, with Domaine Bousquet here to say they’ve found keys of success

Domaine Bousquet Sustainability Report is bucking the trend, strongly outperforming even the bright-spot organics category. This is amid a steady drumbeat of negative news on the state of the wine industry this year. Facts are that U.S. sales are down 3.36% measured in dollars, and 4.83% in volume.

Organic wine sales are up 3.86% in dollar sales and 1.39% in volume, according to Nielsen data for organic wines. This info is for the 52 weeks ending September 10, 2024. When we looked at the most recent quarterly trend, they’re even strengthening (+7.44% and +2.01%). All Domaine Bousquet’s wines have been organic, since the winery’s founding in 1997. They have registered an impressive 12 percent uptick by both measures. The winery’s $11 million in annual sales, has been recorded by their Miami-based Origins Organic importing arm.

Harvest Time at Hotel Torciano: From the Vineyards to the Winery

Excitement is building, because grape harvest is about to unfold in Tuscany, Italy. This is always the most anticipated event of the year. And, It’s no wonder that guest enjoy gathering in stunning vineyard-covered hills. This is the time for picking Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon wine grapes. It is also about the educational aspects of harvest, which is a truly immersive experience. It teaches work techniques and care, vine cultivation to grape picking, and even the traditional grape stomping with your feet.

Let me say this about that, because I was once in Tuscany in October, and it is glorious. I experienced pairing Tuscan Wines with Tuscan Cuisine at Castello di Meleto, and it was the best.

Welcome To A Land You Might Never Have Imagined

In August, I received a press release that really made my heart skip a beat. It’s been sitting in my inbox ever since, because I just can’t let it go, due to its overall beauty. I’m holding onto the dream of someday visiting Canary Island Wineries, a captivating island off the coast of Tenerife. This hidden gem offers an unforgettable experience for those who venture there. The allure of its remote location and unique wines has me yearning for an adventure of a lifetime, despite it not being on everyone’s radar. I will be writing more on this one, again.
