Beth Willard is the new Co-Chair at the Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) 2024.
Beth Willard
Australian born and bred, Beth Willard fell into wine through a love of languages and travel. She started her wine career in the cellar door at Hardy’s Canberra winery, then worked for a small family producer in the same region.
Making the move to Europe, Willard spent a year working at the Syndicat des Vins de Bordeaux before moving to the UK where she has held several buying roles including Buying Manager for the Direct Wines Global Buying Team where she worked for nearly 10 years.
It was during this time that she developed her passion and profound knowledge of Spain. Beth continues to source wines for various global markets while also being a key figure in the promotion of Spanish wine.
Beth is a member of the Gran Orden de Caballeros del Vino.
Beth was first a judge at the DWWA in 2015 and has been a Regional Chair for Eastern Europe and most recently Spain panels at the DWWA.
